April 17, 2010 marked The Next Now: The (highly-anticipated) Inauguration of Jay Coogan, Sixteenth President of the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. In the months prior, many creative hands and minds were busy planning a truly memorable event, and the sun shone brightly over MCAD last Saturday, as the campus was transformed into a day-long celebration of the future of MCAD.

In response to a written prompt detailing the concept of "The Next Now," Aimee Gauthier created a visual system that was implemented throughout all of the visual initiatives surrounding the day's events. This visual system served as inspiration and direction for all of those who contributed their artistic talents to making the day's events spectacular, including:

Lars Mason, Allison Vallant, & Daniel Loveland (interior decor/lighting consultation & implementation), Lisa Roy (floral arrangment/design), Osla Thomason (place setting/decor consultation), John Vogt (The Next Now mural design/installation), Andrew Vomhof (lighting design).

A hearty congrats to Jay, and a big thank-you to everyone who came together to make this event spectacular! The future of MCAD indeed looks very bright.
